Important Information on Hire Options

If you choose to undertake a lifting operation on an ICPA Crane Hire only basis, under I.S. 360:2004 Code of Practice for the Safe Use of Cranes in the Construction Industry” and “BS7121 - Safe use of Cranes’, it is the Hirer's responsibility fully plan, control, supervise and insure the crane operation and personnel.

Under the terms of a standard ICPA Contract Lift, the crane/equipment, operator and all personnel supplied with the crane,(including the Appointed Person) are the responsibility of the Crane Owner. The Crane Owner is responsible for all aspects of the planning and execution of the lift.  It is important to note that an ICPA Crane Hire agreement only becomes an ICPA Contract Lift when the crane owner supplies the Appointed Person/Crane Supervisor and hence, accepts liability for planning and supervising the lift.
